Steven van Paassen new editor-in-chief for Prophyta

The Prophyta Foundation is very pleased to announce to its readers, sponsors and advertisers the appointment of a new editor-in-chief. Steven van Paassen, until July 31st working as communication specialist at Rijk Zwaan vegetable seed company, will fulfil this role from august 1st 2025. Educated at HAS Green Academy in Den Bosch, The Netherlands, he worked many years as account- and communications manager at Bureau Horticom/Adequaat, Delphy and since 2005 at Rijk Zwaan. Steven will be responsible for the content and articles in the magazine, supported by an editorial advisery board.

Steven van Paassen is the successor to Monique Krinkels, who announced her retirement in 2024. Monique had been editor-in-chief of the trade journal since 1991 and was also the face of the magazine. When she announced her retirement, it was highly questionable whether we would be able to find a suitable successor and thus guarantee the continued existence of the trade journal. Fortunately, in Steven van Paassen, we found a highly knowledgeable and communicative person who will undoubtedly fulfil this role of editor-in-chief in the right way.

Steven van Paassen will be introducing himself to Prophyta's many authors, sponsors and advertisers over the coming months.
